Rays Playoff Parking
Playoff parking at the Trop is prepaid only. Here's how to get a spot, and the downtown plan if they're gone.
For a Rays home playoff game, the Trop's lots are prepaid only: no drive-up parking is sold on game day. Buy a pass from the Rays ahead of time, or plan on downtown St. Petersburg from the start. The overflow is the real plan: the city's SouthCore Garage posts event prices of $5 or $10, occasionally $20 for larger events, the Central Garage at 1388 1st Ave N takes SpotHero reservations and was $15 in our last live game-window probe, and the SunRunner bus stops at the Trop's north side. Series on our saved calendar: the World Series against Milwaukee Brewers. Next at the Trop on our saved calendar: Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers, World Series Game 3, Mon, Oct 26 at 8:00 PM. Everything below says what's verified and what isn't.

How playoff parking differs from a regular game
No drive-up: buy a pass ahead or plan downtown
In the regular season you can pull into Lots 6 and 7 and pay by card. Not in the postseason: the Rays say parking for all postseason games at Tropicana Field is prepaid only and will not be sold on a drive-up basis. If you don't already hold a pass, buy one from the Rays' parking page before you leave, and if passes are gone, skip the stadium entirely and park downtown.

No playoff prices are published, so anchor on what is
Two sets of numbers are actually in print. The city's SouthCore Garage page says "Event prices are $5 or $10 and occasionally $20 for larger events", against a normal day of "$2 per hour or any part thereof" and a "$16 maximum per day". And in our live probe of a September Friday night game window on SpotHero's bookable garages near the Trop, self-park ran $15 to $25. Neither is a playoff quote.

"If necessary" games happen only if the series gets that far
MLB marks some scheduled dates "if necessary": they are played only if neither team has clinched the series by then. The table above carries that label from MLB's feed. Don't book nonrefundable parking or a hotel for one until the series reaches it.

The Trop's own lots
Lot 1 is premium; Lots 2, 3, 5 and 6 are the prepaid lots
In the regular season, prepaid parking is sold for Lots 2, 3, 5 and 6, Lot 1 is the premium lot recommended for seats behind home plate, and Lots 6 and 7 take drive-ups. For the postseason, every space is prepaid and nothing is sold at the gate. In the regular season lots open 2.5 hours before first pitch Monday through Friday and 3 hours before on weekends; the Rays haven't published a separate postseason clock, so check the official page before you go.

Accessible parking is in Lots 1 and 7; rideshare drop-off is Gate 4
Wheelchair-accessible parking sits just outside the gates in Lots 1 and 7, most of it in Lot 7 (enter from 3rd Ave S or 4th Ave S), all of it van-accessible and subject to availability; for a postseason game it is still prepaid only. There's a drop-off area in front of Gate 4, across from Lot 1 on 16th St S, and St. Petersburg police monitor placard use in the accessible spaces. The Rays ask rideshare riders to set their drop-off point at Gate 4; ADA guests using rideshare can be dropped off and picked up at Gate 1 or Gate 4.

The overflow play: downtown St. Pete
SouthCore Garage: the published event rate downtown
The city's SouthCore Parking Garage at 101 1st Ave S (1,124+ spaces) is the rare facility here with prices in print: $2 per hour with a $16 daily maximum normally, and posted event prices of $5 or $10, occasionally $20 for larger events. Pay-on-foot machines take cash or card; exit lanes are card only; the entrance clears 6'10". It's in the core of downtown, so budget a real walk to the dome.

Central Garage: the closest bookable spot, and the tall-vehicle pick
The Central Garage at 1388 1st Ave N is the other overflow facility the Rays name. Card only (Honk or ParkMobile, zone 3461), 7'8" entrance clearance (the one to pick in a truck or loaded roof rack), and it takes advance reservations through SpotHero and ParkWhiz. In our live probe of a September game window it was the cheapest bookable spot near the Trop: $15 at the event rate, 0.3 miles from the gates.

Bookable inventory near the Trop was thin in our probe
The same probe found just five SpotHero facilities within a mile, two of them hotel valets at $45 to $50. If you want a reserved spot for a playoff date, SpotHero's Tropicana Field page lists what is bookable once you enter your date.

The SunRunner stops at the Trop's north side
The SunRunner rapid bus runs between downtown St. Pete and the beaches with a stop on the north side of Tropicana Field, every 15 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and every 30 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight, per the Rays' own transit directions. Park once anywhere on the line and skip the lots entirely; just confirm the last departure at psta.net/sunrunner before counting on it after a playoff game that goes to extras.

Getting out
- Parked at SouthCore? Its exit lanes are card only, so have a card ready; cash works only at the pay-on-foot machines.
- Rideshare: the Rays name Gate 4 as the drop-off point and Gate 1 or Gate 4 for ADA pickup; they publish no general pickup point, so follow the pickup spot your app shows.
- The SunRunner runs every 30 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight, per the Rays; a long playoff game can outlast it, so check the last departure at psta.net before you rely on the ride back.
