Getting to the terminal
Use the free cell phone lot when collecting a passenger
The Cell Phone Waiting Lot is a free surface lot with access off George J Bean Pkwy, restrooms and EV charging. Wait there until your arriving passenger is ready for pickup, then follow signs to arrivals. It is a waiting area, not parking for the duration of a flight.
SkyConnect connects the Economy Garage with the terminal 24/7, with reduced frequency overnight. The booking service lists approximately 12 minutes between Economy and the Main Terminal; allow for waiting as well. Use Level 1 for the station. Posted vehicle clearances are 6 feet 8 inches in Short Term, 7 feet 10 inches in Long Term, 8 feet on Economy levels 2–6, and 13 feet on Economy Level 1 and the surface lot. Include roof equipment when checking your vehicle height.
Several off-site listings checked on August 26 (Safeway, Extended Stay America and DoubleTree Rocky Point) included no shuttle: you park and arrange transport both ways. Add those transfers to the parking quote. The facility's own booking page carries current shuttle hours, charges and pickup instructions.
Allow time for check-in, shuttle waits and the ride
The A1 Express instructions checked on August 26 asked customers to arrive 15 minutes early for shuttle check-in. That is one operator's instruction, not a door-to-terminal estimate for every lot. Ask your selected lot how much time to allow for check-in, waiting and the ride, including your return pickup.
The official Economy Flex product includes the surface lot behind the Economy Garage, so a covered stall is not guaranteed. TPA prebooking does not reserve a particular stall, and the online discount differs by date, so compare your total with the posted drive-up cap. Use the emailed QR code at entry and exit, avoiding the SunPass lane.
The airport parking page currently advises that installation of new equipment is causing lane closures at garage entrances and exits; follow the signs at the airport.

The airport's parking page states that disabled parking is provided on all levels of all parking garages and adjacent to the elevators in the Economy Parking Garage, and its Accessibility Services page says to follow the standard signage symbols to the designated spaces, commonly located adjacent to nearby elevators. From the Economy garage, follow signs to the elevators for SkyConnect access to the terminal. Push-button emergency and assistance phones sit at the elevator lobbies throughout the parking facilities.
Who parks free under Florida law (a standard placard alone does not)
Standard rates apply to disabled parking, with the exception the airport spells out: in accordance with Section 316.1964 of the Florida Statutes, parking is free for vehicles equipped with ramps, lifts, or foot or hand controls, vehicles displaying a State of Florida Toll Exemption Permit, and vehicles with a disabled veterans (DV) license plate. The 45-day maximum stay still applies.
